Pinot grigio, Italian phenomenon - Consortium delle Venezie

Pinot grigio represents one of the current biggest global phenomenon of great interest. In 2015, world-wide potential is estimated on a total area of approximately 57,000 hectares, soon becoming the first varietal cultivar indicated on the bottles-label and the fourth variety cultivated in Italy.

Italy, with 24,501 hectares, is today the mail producer with 43% of the global surface and in the next years forecasts a growth rate of more than 30,000 hectares on the national surface.
