PROWEIN 2019 – 3 Days of Dusseldorf world’s wine capital
Building on more than 6,600 exhibitors from 62 countries that, in the last edition, occupied almost 72,000 square meters of exhibition space in the three days of the fair Prowein increasingly represents the heart of the European trade world dedicated to wine. Numbers that once again confirm the international caliber of the event, universally recognized as one of the leading business platforms in the world in the field of wine and spirits. The same centrality is also evident from the exponential growth recorded in terms of attendance compared to the first edition.
If on its debut, from 23 to 24 February 1994 under the name of Pro Vins, the visitors were in fact just over 1,500, in the appointment of 20179 the 58,500 specialized visitors were far exceeded, with a marked foreign presence (51% of the total) and a staggering percentage increase (+ 3800%), which is also reflected in the comparison with the exhibition area (+ 2368.2% from 1994 to 2017), the number of exhibitors (+ 1962.5%) and the countries represented (+ 675%).
It is no coincidence that today the largest European wine event has become the leading and indispensable stage for the sector’s players, from producers to importers, from buyers to representatives of large international distribution chains, and at the Düsseldorf fair – open only to operators professionals – find the real B2B, a very fertile ground for business, supported by a highly efficient and notoriously solid organizational machine. Only in the 2017 edition, for example, 60% of the specialized public concluded its business or started contacts to place orders immediately after the fair, while one in two found new suppliers. For these reasons, visitor satisfaction reaches 98% of the total.
The Consortium, in its second directly present edition, has brought once again the wines of the entire social structure which for this year touches the 74 labels in a continuous tasting counter for all the visitors who were able to receive, in addition to the tasting, information, a map of all the member companies within the event and a tasting notes with the references of the technical data sheets that can be downloaded via the dedicated QR code.
The visit of the Minister of Agricultural, Forestry and Tourism Policies Gianmarco Centinaio was also important, and he and President Armani focused on exploring some important contents dedicated to the enhancement and defense of Pinot Grigio on a national level.
