London Wine Fair 2018 – starting with the biggest tasting of Pinot grigio in UK

26, Mar 2019 | post

The London Wine Fair is considered one of the most important events in the world wine industry and takes place every year at the Olympia in London.

Executed every year since 1981, the London Wine Fair brings together producers, exporters and distributors along with buyers from the shopping, trade and commerce and import sectors. With a focus on the ability to taste from a vast collection of wines in a professional forum from virtually every major wine-producing country in the world, the Fair sees around 25,000 bottles opened during the three days of the event.

The strict commercial entry policy ensures that exhibitors are able to concentrate their efforts and deal only with trade during the show. Exhibitors are mostly divided into two types: those participating in the national pavilions and independent companies that represent a variety of wines often from different countries. The largest groups of exhibitors participate under the banner of the national pavilion, with France, Spain and Italy best represented. Among the independent exhibitors there are many prominent names in the distribution of wines and spirits throughout the United Kingdom.

The fair is much more than a pure business platform with specialist tastings, masterclasses, debates, educational opportunities and speakers during the three-day show. Focus on specific sections of the trade, such as supplying large quantities of wine or small specialized wines (or boutiques) for fine wine merchants or white tablecloth restaurants.

On this occasion, the Consortium will participate in the collaboration agreement with the important technical magazine “the drinksbusiness”, within the “winelist confidential” area, a real guide to the best places in London where you can discover and taste a glass of wine … Pinot Grigio!
