Identity, value and promotion for the DOC of Pinot Grigio in the four days of the Verona event
With over 85 members’ labels and strong interest on the international scene at the latest trade shows – from Wine Paris to Prowein – the DOC delle Venezie, the first Italian denomination for territorial dimension, presented the second harvest to international buyers, sector operators and specialized press.
On Sunday Apri 7thl, together with Albino Armani, President of the Consorzio DOC delle Venezie, and Alessandro Torcoli, Director of Civiltà del Bere, an important tasting took place in which the “Stile Italiano” was discussed, a leitmotiv of the communication campaign and promotion of the new DOC of the Triveneto and result of the work that the denomination is carrying out with the aim of giving a territorial characterization and a new qualitative identity to the still white wine most exported to the world.
This style, which was able to attract the most demanding international consumers, ready to appreciate the originality of the wine in addition to its value, was put in the spotlight by technicians, tasters, producers and journalists in a confrontation, between dialogue and tasting, aimed at understanding and enhancing the Italian style of the Pinot grigio DOC delle Venezie compared to the Pinot grigio from other countries of the world.
With over 25,000 hectares, the Pinot grigio DOC delle Venezie extends over a vast production area that unites Trentino, Friuli and Veneto: three regions that have taken up the challenge of repositioning the Italian Pinot grigio, supporting it with a strong territorial identity and precise, telling the story.
